Faridabad: Amrita Hospital has joined hands with the Nagaland Government in a transformative partnership aimed at delivering specialized healthcare to the region.

This initiative introduces monthly outpatient clinics (OPDs) at Naga Hospital Kohima (the teaching hospital of NIMSR Kohima) and District Hospital Dimapur, bringing advanced medical services in Cardiology, Nephrology, Oncology, and Hepatology directly to Nagaland’s residents.

Under this collaborative effort, expert specialists from Amrita Hospital will provide Cardiology and Nephrology consultations at Naga Hospital Kohima every second Wednesday of the month, and at District Hospital Dimapur on the following day, every second Thursday.

For Oncology and Hepatology care, clinics are scheduled on the third Wednesday in Kohima and the third Thursday in Dimapur, ensuring consistent access to crucial healthcare services in these specialized fields.

Dr Sanjeev Singh, Medical Director of Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, emphasized the educational aspect of this partnership: “The partnership will also focus on professional development for local medical practitioners. Amrita Hospital’s visiting specialists will conduct Continuing Medical Education (CME) sessions tailored to the needs of Nagaland’s healthcare professionals, ensuring an ongoing exchange of expertise and knowledge.”

Through these CME sessions, local healthcare providers will gain exposure to the latest medical practices and developments, fostering a robust knowledge-sharing environment that is vital for the advancement of healthcare standards in the region.

Furthermore, Amrita Hospital plans to offer Observership Programs to Nagaland’s doctors, giving them valuable opportunities for hands-on experience and advanced clinical training at the hospital. This immersive training, pending approval from the Nagaland Government, is expected to significantly enhance local medical expertise.

Swami Nijamritananda Puri, Administrative Director of Amrita Hospital, Faridabad, echoed the broader mission of this initiative, stating, “Through this collaboration, Amrita Hospital seeks to enhance healthcare access and support the professional growth of medical practitioners in Kohima and Dimapur, making high-quality specialized healthcare more accessible to the people of Nagaland.”

By integrating specialized services, training, and knowledge-sharing, this collaboration aspires not only to improve healthcare accessibility but also to support the continuous professional development of medical practitioners, ultimately contributing to a stronger healthcare ecosystem for Nagaland.
