Beat the Heat with These Smart Summer Moves

Extreme heat puts serious stress on your body. It can lead to heat exhaustion or even life-threatening heat stroke if not managed properly. Stay alert and take precautions.
Limit Sun Exposure Between 12–3 PM
Avoid going out in the sun during peak heat hours (12 noon to 3 p.m.). This is when the risk of heat-related illness is highest.
Stay Hydrated
Keep sipping water, lemon water, ORS, or lassi throughout the day. Staying hydrated is your best defense against heat exhaustion.
Dress Smart
Choose loose, light-colored cotton clothes. When outdoors, use sunglasses, a hat, or an umbrella to stay protected from direct sun.
Avoid Dehydrating Drinks
Avoid tea, coffee, and sugary sodas—they increase dehydration. Choose water or cooling drinks instead.
Know the Warning Signs
Nausea, dizziness, fatigue, or sweating. Move affected individuals to a cool, shaded place and cool them with water and fluids.
Avoid peak heat, stay hydrated, dress appropriately, and look out for symptoms. A few simple steps can protect you and your loved ones from heat-related dangers.
