THE HISTORY OF WORLD FIRST AID DAY
World First Aid Day was established in 2000 by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and is observed annually on the second Saturday of September. Its goal is to raise awareness about the life-saving impact of first aid in both everyday situations and emergencies. While the official recognition of the day is recent, the practice of first aid dates back centuries. In prehistoric times, people used natural remedies for treating injuries, but the modern concept began to take shape in the 19th century.
