World Hearing Day 2025: Changing Mindsets, Make Ear & Hearing Care Reality!

Every year on March 3, the WHO raises awareness about hearing health and the prevention of hearing loss. It aims to encourage safe listening habits, early intervention, and accessibility for all. WHO leads this global initiative to ensure ear and hearing care for everyone.
Theme of World Hearing Day 2025
This year’s theme is Changing Mindsets: Empower Yourself to Make Ear and Hearing Care a Reality for All! Take charge of your hearing health by practicing safe listening, recognizing early signs, getting screenings, and supporting those with hearing loss. Empowerment drives change!
The Growing Concern
By 2050, nearly 2.5 billion people could experience some form of hearing loss. Over 1 billion young people are at risk due to unsafe listening practices, including loud music and video games. How we care for our ears today determines how well we hear in the future!
Know the Warning Signs
Struggling to follow conversations, frequently asking others to repeat themselves, persistent ringing in the ears (tinnitus), increasing TV or headphone volume, and muffled speech or sounds could be signs of hearing loss.
Prevention is Key!
Keep your hearing safe by keeping headphone volume below 60%, taking listening breaks, limiting exposure to loud environments, wearing ear protection at concerts and noisy places, and using apps like hearWHO to monitor your hearing health.
Protecting Children’s Hearing
According to WHO, 60% of childhood hearing loss is preventable! Ensure protection by vaccinating against infections like measles and meningitis, screening newborns early, monitoring speech and response to sounds, and reducing exposure to loud noises from a young age.
Hearing Loss & Its Impact
Untreated hearing loss affects education, employment, and mental health. It can lead to social isolation and reduced quality of life. Assistive devices like hearing aids and cochlear implants improve communication, but access remains limited. Let's advocate for better hearing care for all!
Call to Action
Take charge of your hearing health, get regular check-ups, practice safe listening, spread awareness, and support accessible hearing care for all. Join the movement today!
