Meditation, Yoga, and Fasting Integral to Preventive Healthcare: Mansukh Mandaviya

New Delhi: Union Minister for Labour & Employment and Youth Affairs & Sports, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, participated in a seminar on Health Challenges and Healthy Lifestyle organized by Arogya Bharti in collaboration with ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Faridabad.

Addressing the gathering, he emphasized the importance of preventive and promotive healthcare in building a healthier India. Citing ancient Indian medical pioneers like Charak, Sushruta, and Lord Dhanwantari, he highlighted the country’s rich healthcare legacy. He stressed the role of meditation, yoga, and fasting in preventive healthcare and praised Arogya Bharti’s initiatives in organizing wellness camps across the country to promote holistic well-being.

During his visit, Dr. Mandaviya inaugurated three state-of-the-art medical facilities at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, aimed at strengthening diagnostic and treatment services. The newly launched Digital Mammography Services will facilitate early detection and evaluation of breast cancer with high-resolution imaging.

The 1000 mA Digital Radiography Fluoroscopy (DRF) System will enhance diagnostic capabilities by providing high-quality X-ray radiography and fluoroscopic-guided interventions. The introduction of the Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) Application will significantly contribute to oncology research, RNA sequencing, and pathogen identification, supporting precision medicine advancements. These cutting-edge facilities are expected to improve healthcare access for insured workers and their dependents within the ESIC network.

As a tribute to India’s ancient healing traditions, Dr. Mandaviya also unveiled a statue of Lord Dhanwantari, the god of Ayurveda, at ESIC Medical College & Hospital. The event witnessed active participation from doctors, paramedics, medical students, industrial workers, and representatives from industrial associations and Arogya Bharti, reflecting a shared commitment to preventive healthcare and holistic wellness. The minister’s address reinforced the need to integrate traditional wisdom with modern healthcare advancements, fostering a nationwide culture of well-being and disease prevention.

The seminar saw enthusiastic participation from doctors, paramedics, medical students, industrial workers, and representatives from industrial associations and Arogya Bharti. Their engagement reflected a collective commitment to strengthening preventive healthcare and holistic wellness across the country.
