Prof Dr Dorairaj Prabhakaran (MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), DM (Cardiology), MSc (Health Research Methodology) is a Cardiologist, Epidemiologist, and Public Health Expert specializing in chronic disease research and prevention. He completed his MBBS from Bangalore Medical College, MD (Internal Medicine) and DM (Cardiology) from AIIMS, New Delhi, and an MSc in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University, Canada. He is the Executive Director of the Centre for Chronic Disease Control (CCDC) and a Distinguished Professor at the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI). He also holds academic positions at LSHTM, Emory University, and Harvard School of Public Health. With 650+ publications in leading journals and an H-index of 110, he has been recognized among India’s top medical researchers and the top 2% of global researchers by Stanford University. His research focuses on cardiovascular disease prevention, health disparities, air pollution, and digital health solutions. He leads initiatives to develop low-cost healthcare interventions and improve chronic disease management in India. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy and has received multiple honors, including an Honorary DSc from the University of Glasgow.
