New Delhi: On the occasion of World Stroke Day Everbloom organized an engaging Awareness Workshop in New Delhi focused on educating the community about stroke its causes warning signs and the critical importance of timely intervention.
The event brought together doctors caregivers and community members to strengthen understanding of early detection emergency response and comprehensive post stroke recovery.
Participants received practical guidance on recognizing early stroke symptoms performing first aid and managing recovery. Dr Rajesh Bhatnagar General Physician delivered an insightful session on stroke awareness emphasizing its risk factors in India and effective prevention strategies.
He along with other experts highlighted the vital role of caregivers and the value of physiotherapy occupational therapy and psychological support in rehabilitation. The session also underscored how proper nutrition physical activity and mental well being play key roles in improving recovery and preventing recurrence.
According to a 2023 Lancet report and other recent studies India records between 1.5 to 1.8 million stroke cases annually amounting to roughly 130 to 170 strokes per 100000 people.
Stroke is now the country’s second leading cause of death and third leading cause of disability underscoring the urgent need for stronger public awareness and community preparedness.
