Hyderabad Men Encouraged to Prioritize Reproductive Health by AINU

Hyderabad: The Asian Institute of Nephrology & Urology (AINU) has launched a Men’s Wellness Program at its Banjara Hills centre to mark International Men's Day on November 19.
This initiative addresses the rising cases of male infertility and sexual dysfunction in Hyderabad, encouraging men to seek early evaluation and treatment for these often-neglected health concerns.
AINU doctors stress the importance of breaking the silence around male reproductive health to reduce stigma and promote open conversations. Male factor infertility accounts for 30 to 50 percent of infertility cases, with Telangana witnessing a 15 to 20 percent increase recently.
Stress, poor sleep, obesity, and environmental factors contribute to declining sperm health. The wellness package features a detailed assessment by an andrologist, hormone profiling, prostate screening, lifestyle evaluation, and semen analysis.
Blood tests measure testosterone levels, diabetes, and metabolic indicators including HBA1C, lipid profile, and TSH. Scrotal ultrasound screening is also part of the program.
Dr Purna Chandra Reddy, Executive Director and Chief Consultant Urologist at AINU, noted that men often neglect health due to busy lifestyles and stigma, emphasizing the program’s role in raising preventive care awareness.
Dr Suraj Pinni, Consultant Urologist and Andrologist at AINU, highlighted that early evaluation and lifestyle changes significantly improve men's overall health and fertility.
AINU’s Centre for Men’s Health and Andrology offers advanced treatment for erectile dysfunction and male infertility, including low-intensity extracorporeal shock wave therapy, intracorneal injections, varicocele surgery with intra-operative Doppler, and prostate procedures like water vapor therapy and prostatic urethral lift.
All services are delivered confidentially with personalized care.
