Advanced 3D Skull Base Anatomy Workshop Held at Fortis Mulund
Mumbai: Fortis Hospital, Mulund, in collaboration with the Department of Neurosurgery, HBTMC & Dr. R. N. Cooper Hospital, today announced the conclusion of a pioneering two-day Endoscopic Skull Base Surgery Workshop in Mumbai, conducted under the aegis of the Skull Base Surgery Society of India.
Scheduled for November 21st and 22nd, this academic initiative marks the first-ever 3D skull base anatomy and 3D endonasal surgical corridor training program in the city, offering a new benchmark in neurosurgical education.
The workshop, inaugurated by Dr S. Narayani, Business Head, Fortis Hospitals Maharashtra & Dr Vishal Beri, Facility Director, Fortis Hospital Mulund, featured a comprehensive 3D anatomical tour of the skull base, extended endonasal approaches, complex bony landmark mapping, surgical video walkthroughs, and panel discussions on case selection.
The second day schedule includes a cadaveric hands-on training module at Cooper Hospital, led by senior national faculty, focusing on endonasal corridors, TONES (Transorbital Neuroendoscopic Surgery), clival and petroclival approaches, cavernous sinus strategies, middle fossa pathways, and skull-base reconstruction.

The workshop was supported by a distinguished national faculty group, including Dr CE Deopujari, Dr Suresh Sankhla, Dr Atul Goel, Dr BK Misra, Dr Keki Turel, Dr Roopesh Kumar, Dr Deepak Bhangale and others, along with Fortis and MCGM leadership serving as patrons.
Dr Bhumika Maikhuri is a Consultant Orthodontist at Sanjeevan Hospital, Delhi. She is also working as a Correspondent and a Medical Writer at Medical Dialogues.
