Hyderabad: In a miraculous moment of medical expertise, doctors at Apollo Fertility clinic brought an end to a Hyderabad couple’ seven-year wait for a child. Through a bespoke and successful approach, the medical team at Apollo Fertility treated the patient's tubal blockage and utilised Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) for conception.

This innovative strategy allowed the couple to conceive on their very first attempt, eliminating the need for more advanced IVF treatments. This success story highlights the clinic's dedication to providing effective and personalised fertility solutions.

When the 33-year-old Nalini (name changed) had first visited Apollo Fertility with her husband in May 2025, they were worried about the fact that they had been trying to conceive for the past 7 years with no success.

The initial assessment revealed a diminished ovarian reserve, indicated by a low Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) level of 0.58 ng/mL. On further diagnosis by a tubal patency test, a blockage in the left tube was identified.

“The couple visited us after going through the trauma of not being able to conceive for seven years. After a thorough checkup, the hurdle was identified, while she already had a low egg count.

Their journey was a complex one, but we were able to navigate the critical stage,” said Dr. Aradhya Achuri, Fertility Specialist, Apollo Fertility, Kondapur, Hyderabad.

“This case is a powerful reminder that there's no single template for building a family; every story is different, and we are committed to giving every story a chance” she added.

The minimally invasive surgical procedure helped in opening the blocked fallopian tubes, where in usually in such cases, the patients are usually recommended IVF or laparoscopy directly. The IUI treatment proved so effective that the couple successfully conceived on their very first attempt posts the blockage removal.

The patient, now four months pregnant and in good health, remains in constant contact with the doctors for ongoing care and support.

Around the globe, tubal blockage is a significant cause of female infertility, affecting approximately 25-30% of women globally. In India, among infertile women, 30%-40% have fallopian tube-related diseases that cause infertility.

Apollo Fertility is at the forefront of tackling such issues and is utilising next-generation technology and treatment facilities to help couples have a healthy and happy conception experience.
