Kollam: Neuberg Diagnostics, partnering with Meditrina Hospital, hosted a Continuing Medical Education (CME) event today in Kollam. The event gathered more than 50 prominent healthcare professionals from Kerala and Tamil Nadu to explore the latest advancements in interventional cardiology and genomic medicine. This assembly of experts facilitated a valuable exchange of knowledge and advancements in these crucial medical domains.
The CME was spearheaded by Dr. BlessvinJino, Consultant Interventional Cardiologist at Meditrina Hospital, Kollam. Dr. Jino delivered an insightful presentation on "New Horizons in Interventional Cardiology", Ms. Sushma Patil, Lead Genetic counselor at Neuberg Centre for Genomic Medicine, also addressed the gathering. Her session focused on “Integrating Pharmacogenomics in Modern Day Healthcare practice and the pivotal role of genomics in hereditary screening”. Ms. Patil emphasized how one's genetic makeup influences drug metabolism, risk for adverse drug reactions and what would be ideal dosage based on different pharmacogenomics guidelines like Clinical Pharmacogenetics Implementation Consortium (CPIC). This helps in individualized, effective and safer treatment options based on Pharmacogenomics test results.
