Robotic Knee Replacement Achieved Within Six Months of Even Hospital Launch

Bengaluru: Even Healthcare, India’s pioneering integrated managed care provider, announces the successful completion of its first robotic knee replacement, a major clinical milestone achieved within just six months of launching its first hospital in May 2025.
The accomplishment underscores Even’s commitment to rapidly building a world-class, technology-led care model, and places the young provider among the select few centres in India offering robotic-assisted joint replacement.
For a hospital of its scale and recent launch, adopting such advanced surgical capability so quickly is a significant leap that reflects a deliberate focus on precision-driven, outcomes-led medicine from day one.
Speaking about the milestone, Dr Prashanth Nagaraj, Head of Orthopaedics at Even, said, “Introducing robotic-assisted knee replacement within months of launch demonstrates Even’s commitment to building a centre for surgical excellence from the ground up. At Even, our focus is on combining clinical expertise with advanced technology to deliver consistently superior outcomes. This milestone reflects how rapidly we are shaping a next-generation orthopaedic program founded on precision, safety, and truly patient-first care.”
Commenting on the surgery, Dr Abrar Mohammed, Visiting Orthopaedic Surgeon at Even, said, “Robotic surgery is like having a GPS inside the operating room. It enhances accuracy, improves consistency, and ensures that every patient receives a personalised plan created specifically for their anatomy. Achieving this level of precision so early in Even’s journey shows how intentional the organisation is about building a future-ready surgical program.”
Robotic knee replacement is among the most precise and reliable techniques in modern orthopaedics. Using CT/MRI-based 3D mapping and a robotic arm that guides the surgeon with millimetre-level accuracy, the procedure enables exact bone cuts, optimal implant alignment, and a personalised surgical plan for every patient.
This results in a more natural-feeling joint, smoother mobility, reduced pain, faster recovery, and potentially longer implant lifespan, especially valuable for patients with complex deformities or alignment issues.
Even’s robotic platform further integrates advanced imaging, computer navigation, AI-assisted planning, and real-time intraoperative analytics, giving surgeons continuous data for highly predictable outcomes.
While traditional knee replacement remains effective and cost-accessible, it relies more heavily on manual technique and leads to greater variability in alignment and recovery compared to the consistency delivered by robotic-assisted surgery.
With this milestone, Even continues to strengthen its orthopaedic program and accelerate its mission to build India’s most advanced outcome-led care network. The rapid adoption of next-generation surgical technology further reinforces the company’s commitment to precision, safety, and consistently superior patient results regardless of its young age or scale.
