Doctors Lead by Example at Second Blood Donation Camp at Delhi State Cancer Institute

The second blood donation camp at the Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI) premises was successfully organized today by DSCI in collaboration with GTB Hospital, marked by the inspiring participation of doctors who led from the front by donating blood alongside hospital staff and dedicated volunteers. Their collective effort highlighted a strong commitment to saving lives and strengthening the spirit of community service.
The doctors’ active involvement sent a powerful message about the importance of regular blood donation. By stepping forward first, they encouraged staff members and volunteers to participate with enthusiasm and confidence. The camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with donors expressing pride in contributing to a life-saving cause.
Dr Vinod Kumar, Director, DSCI remarked “When doctors donate blood themselves, it builds trust and inspires the entire community. This camp reflects our collective responsibility toward saving lives and promoting a culture of voluntary donation.”

Guest of Honour Dr. Richa Gupta, Incharge, Blood Bank, GTBH appreciated the teamwork and compassion displayed by everyone involved, saying, “Seeing healthcare professionals and citizens come together for such a noble cause is truly inspiring. Every donation today carries hope for someone in need.”
Another Guest of Honour Dr Ishita Pant, Assistant Professor, Pathology, IHBAS shared, “Voluntary blood donation is one of the simplest yet most powerful acts of kindness. Today’s participation shows how a united effort can create a meaningful impact.”
Medical professionals ensured that all safety protocols were followed, creating a smooth and reassuring donation experience for participants. As a token of appreciation, all donors were presented with gifts and certificates acknowledging their generous contribution.
The initiative not only helped strengthen local blood reserves but also reinforced the message that voluntary blood donation is a simple yet impactful way to support those in need.
This blood donation program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Monika Gupta, Assistant Professor, Onco Pathology, DSCI who extended her heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, staff, and volunteers whose generosity made the camp a meaningful success.
