Delhi State Cancer Institute (DSCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the installation of a high-energy Linear Accelerator, a state-of-the-art radiation therapy machine for advanced cancer treatment.

The MoU was signed on 21 January 2026 at the Delhi Secretariatin presence of Mr Yash Chaudhary, Special Secretary (Health& Family Welfare), Dr Ravinder Singh, Joint Director, DSCI and Dr Pragya Shukla, Head of Department, Clinical Oncology, DSCI along with Sh Bibhuti Ranjan Pradhan, Executive Director (coordination &CSR), Mr Nitin Vashist, Dy. General Manager (CSR) from IOCL, Mr Vineet Agarwal , Manager, HITES and Mr Noor Alam, Senior Assistant, HLL Infra Tech Services Limited (HITES).

The Linear Accelerator is expected to be delivered by the end of March 2026 and will be made fully functional by the end of the year after installation, commissioning, and obtaining mandatory approvals from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board (AERB).

Speaking about this occasion, Dr Vinod Kumar, Director, Delhi State Cancer Institute, said:

“The installation of this high-energy Linear Accelerator marks a major milestone for Delhi State Cancer Institute. This advanced technology will enable us to deliver highly precise, world-class radiation therapy and significantly improve treatment outcomes for our patients. We are grateful to IOCL for their generous support under CSR, which will greatly strengthen public cancer care services in Delhi.”

This high-end machine will go a long way in enhancing the institute’s capacity to provide advanced, accurate, and patient-centric cancer treatment, benefiting thousands of patients annually.

“This is a great initiative being implemented because of the support of the government, and we intend to use it to the fullest for delivering the recommended treatment to the poorest of the poor cancer patients. Mr Bibhuti Ranjan Pradhan has assured us of further assistance once this linear accelerator gets functional,” Dr Pragya added.

Dr Ravinder Singh, Joint Director, DSCI, further added that “DSCI sincerely acknowledges IOCL’s commitment towards social responsibility and healthcare development. The addition of this high-end Linear Accelerator will not only reduce waiting times for patients but also enhance the institute’s ability to deliver safe, efficient, and evidence-based radiotherapy. Such partnerships between public institutions and responsible corporate entities are crucial for improving cancer care outcomes in the country.”
