Dr Abhijit Joshi (MBBS, MD (Internal Medicine), DNB (Cardiology)) is the HOD and Chief Interventional Cardiologist at Manipal Hospital, Baner, Pune. Dr Abhijit has over 25 years of experience and his areas of expertise include performing the following procedures and therapies: complex coronary angioplasty, Chronic Total occlusion angioplasties, Pacemaker therapy, Cardiac resynchronisation therapy, Implantable cardioverter defibrillator therapy, Balloon Mitral valvuloplasty, Clinical Cardiology, TAVR and Heart failure management. He has done MBBS from Government Medical College, Aurangabad in the year 1990, and an MD in Medicine from Teerth Govt Medical College in the year 1995. Dr. Abhijit further pursued DNB Cardiology from Delhi in the year 2003. Dr Abhijit has also been recognized and honoured for his papers and publications in reputed journals globally. Some of his renowned works are on: IV MgSo4 in Acute Myocardial Infarction, and the Role of Homocysteine in Acute Coronary Syndrome. He has pursued an Overseas Training Advanced Course in Coronary Angioplasty at Roen France 2004, an Advanced Course in Chronic total occlusion at Brussels, Belgium 2005, Heart Failure Therapy NewYork USA 2008, Advanced Cardiac Devices Sydney Australia 2009 and has given presentations at National and International Conference. Dr Abhijit is also the President of the Cardiology Society of India Pune Chapter.
