Overview

September is observed as Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, dedicated to spreading awareness about prevention, early detection, and treatment of ovarian cancer.

Often called the “silent killer,” ovarian cancer is difficult to detect early because symptoms like bloating, pelvic pain, or appetite changes are easily overlooked. This makes timely medical evaluation crucial.

In this video, Dr. Anjali Patil, Cancer Surgeon at Saifee, Breach Candy, and ACI-Cumbala Hill Hospitals, Mumbai, with 30+ years of experience, explains the rising risk of ovarian cancer in younger women, its symptoms, risk factors, and available treatment options.

She highlights the importance of awareness, early diagnosis, and advanced surgical techniques in improving outcomes.
