Overview

Arthritis is often seen as an age-related condition, but did you know it can develop much earlier in life?

In this video, Dr Sinukumar Bhaskaran, Consultant in Adult Joint Replacement & Reconstruction and Robotic Arthroplasty (Hip & Knee) at Manipal Hospital, Kharadi, Pune, explains the lesser-known causes of early-onset arthritis.

He discusses how inflammatory arthritis, resulting from conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, can lead to premature joint damage. He also highlights the impact of untreated sports injuries, which may contribute to post-traumatic arthritis later in life.

Additionally, he explains how misalignment in the lower limbs, whether due to birth defects or improperly healed fractures, can cause uneven wear and tear on the joints, increasing the risk of arthritis at an early age.

Watch this video to gain a deeper understanding of these risk factors and learn about the importance of early diagnosis and preventive measures in maintaining long-term joint health.
