Dr Amit Javed (MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MCh (Gastrointestinal Surgery), FACS (USA)) is the Director of Gastrointestinal Oncology at Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram. With over 25 years of experience, he is an expert in Gastrointestinal, Gastrointestinal Cancer, and Bariatric/Weight loss surgery. He did his MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and further pursued MS in General Surgery and Senior Residency from Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh, followed by MCh in Gastrointestinal Surgery from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi. He is ECFMG certified and was awarded the FACS degree by the American College of Surgeons in San Francisco, California, USA. Dr Javed is an avid researcher and has contributed more than 50 articles in various international and national journals and textbooks. He has also described various innovative surgical techniques which have been published. He has been an invited faculty at various international and national meetings. Dr Amit Javed is experienced in performing surgeries for complex gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary diseases, cancers, and bariatric/weight loss surgeries, performing more than 1,000 surgeries each year. He is especially skilled in minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgeries and has been a mentor to many budding surgeons.
