Dr Debasis Datta (MD, DNB, DTMH, FRCP (Lon), FRCP (Edin), CCST UK (Medicine, Gastroenterology)) is the Director of Gastroenterology at Fortis Hospital, Kolkata. He is Consultant in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Internal Medicine with over 35 years of experience (15 years in UK) After training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in London, UK, Dr. Datta practised as a consultant in Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Internal Medicine for more than seven years in London, both in the NHS and private sector. Besides, he has also done a visiting fellowship at Mayo Clinic, USA, and a two-year research on liver metabolism. Dr Datta is currently Overseas Advisor (India) for Royal College of Physicians (UK). Dr. Datta was actively involved in the training of juniors as an educational and clinical supervisor. In addition, he has published several articles on gastroenterology in peer-reviewed journals and presented papers in many international conferences. Besides, he has special interest in therapeutic endoscopies, including ERCP, management of GI bleed, and enteroscopy.
