Dr Rashmi Shirwant (MBBS, MS (Ophthalmology)) is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at Manipal Hospital, Goa, having over 3 years in the field of Ophthalmology. Dr Shirwant earned her MBBS from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal and MS in Ophthalmology, from the same. Her expertise encompasses medical retina including diabetic retinopathy management, comprehensive eye check-ups, refractive error correction, screening for glaucoma and paediatric eye evaluation. She is proficient in performing cataract surgeries using both phacoemulsification, small incision cataract surgery (SICS) and Anterior segment surgeries. Additionally, she is skilled in YAG laser capsulotomy and pterygium excision. Dr Shirwant is also experienced in handling ocular emergencies and trauma, including lid and sclerocorneal tear repairs.
