Hyderabad: PRASHO, the Pragyaan Sustainable Health Outcomes Foundation, is partnering with Pfizer to launch Migraine Awareness and Workplace Productivity workshops for corporate organisations across Hyderabad.

Migraine is much more than a headache it is a neurological disease that disrupts concentration, mood, and workplace performance. According to recent research, migraine is the second leading cause of disability worldwide and the foremost cause among women aged 15-49 years, the backbone of India’s workforce.

The nation loses 4 percent of its annual productive time due to migraine, mainly because many employees continue working despite severe pain, yet remain undiagnosed or misunderstood.

These workshops, led by esteemed neurologists Subhash Kaul and Shyam Jaiswal from KIMS Hospitals, G V Subbaiah Chowdhary from Yashoda Hospitals, and G V S Murthy from PRASHO, aim to address this silent challenge affecting countless professionals.

The sessions are interactive and include practical strategies for coping with migraine, guidance for adapting workspaces, and a short anonymous survey to help HR teams measure the impact within their organisations.

The goal is to create more empathetic, supportive, and productive environments by educating both management and staff about the real impacts of migraine and the need for early recognition and effective care.

Leaders at PRASHO and Pfizer emphasise the importance of awareness, compassion, and medical support for creating healthier workplaces. Dr Pankaj Gupta from Pfizer notes that migraine results in a productivity loss of over 17 days per year for many working adults in India.

By encouraging workplace intervention, the programme aims to empower organisations to better support staff and promote inclusion. PRASHO and Pfizer believe that recognising brain health is essential for business health, ultimately benefiting individual employees and companies alike.
