New Delhi: The newly launched e-Sushrut@Clinics platform is set to empower doctors and help build an interoperable digital health ecosystem, according to Union Health Secretary Smt. Punya Salila Srivastava.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the National Health Authority (NHA) and the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) for the implementation of e-Sushrut@Clinic.

This platform is a lightweight, cloud-based Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), tailored specifically for outpatient clinics, and is aimed at small and medium healthcare providers. It represents a significant step forward in strengthening the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), which seeks to create an integrated digital health infrastructure across India.

“The demand for an affordable, government-backed HMIS has been longstanding. With C-DAC’s collaboration, we believe e-Sushrut@Clinic will serve tens of thousands of doctors and facility managers across the country—enhancing efficiency, data security, and patient satisfaction,” said Srivastava.

She further highlighted that since the platform is ABDM-enabled, it will facilitate the adoption of the ABDM framework and help build an interoperable digital health ecosystem.

Given the success of C-DAC’s systems in multiple AIIMS hospitals, e-Sushrut@Clinic brings that proven technology and reliability to private healthcare providers as well.

Supported by the NHA, the initiative offers a secure and credible HMIS platform, addressing the significant need for trusted digital solutions in the private healthcare sector.

“This is a great partnership with the National Health Authority, marking an important step toward bringing digital healthcare to the whole country. By simplifying digital adoption for healthcare providers, it will help speed up the creation of a transparent and interconnected digital health ecosystem, ultimately providing faster, more reliable care to patients everywhere,” Vivek Khaneja, Executive Director of C-DAC.

Developed as a lighter version of C-DAC’s flagship e-Sushrut HMIS, already in use at 17 AIIMS and over 4,000 health facilities, the platform allows healthcare providers to onboard using their Health Facility Registry (HFR) and Health Professionals Registry (HPR) credentials—or register directly via the platform if not already listed.

“This will make it much easier for doctors in both public and private clinics to access and update patient health records, offer telemedicine services, and streamline diagnostics and prescriptions. eSushrut@Clinic is tailored for outpatient management, pharmacy, and nursing modules, and delivers essential functionalities at a low per-user cost,” the Ministry of Health said.

e-Sushrut@Clinic enables smaller clinics, sub-centres, and mid-sized hospitals to digitise records, prescriptions, and billing efficiently with minimal technical requirements.
