Dr Sunil Valentine Furtado (MBBS, MS (General Surgery), MCh (Neurosurgery), DNB (Neurosurgery), Fellowship (Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Surgery), Fellowship (Endovascular Neurosurgery)) is a Professor, HOD, and Consultant Neurosurgeon at Ramaiah Medical College and Memorial Hospital with over 20 years of experience. He completed his MCh in Neurosurgery from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum, a premier national institute. He then spent nine years at Sri Sathya Sai Institute for Higher Medical Sciences, Bangalore, contributing to neuro-oncology research with IISc and CSIR, focusing on brain tumours and cerebrovascular disorders. Dr Furtado pursued advanced fellowships in the U.S.—Cerebrovascular & Skull Base Surgery at Stanford University, California, and Endovascular Neurosurgery at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York—gaining expertise in complex brain, head, and neck tumour management through a multimodal surgical and interventional approach. With over 80 indexed publications, his expertise includes Cerebrovascular & Endovascular Neurosurgery, Stroke Intervention, Brain & Spine Tumours, and Skull Base Neurosurgery.
