New Delhi: The Union government remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding the well-being of women, children, and adolescents in India, Union Health Minister JP Nadda stated on Friday. His remarks were made during a keynote address at the Partnership for Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (PMNCH) Board Meeting in Geneva, Switzerland.

Nadda praised PMNCH for its dedication to the welfare of these vulnerable groups and reaffirmed the government's commitment to advancing this cause, emphasizing the importance of engaging the youth meaningfully. He highlighted the necessity of maintaining momentum towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and preparing for the post-2030 agenda.

During his address, Nadda stressed the importance of partnerships and collaboration among multiple stakeholders to achieve common objectives. He underscored that such collective efforts are crucial in driving significant progress in the health sector.

In a related development, Union Health Secretary Apurva Chandra reiterated India's proactive stance on health and well-being for women, children, and adolescents during the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA) of the World Health Organization (WHO) in May.

PMNCH, the world’s largest alliance dedicated to protecting and promoting the health, well-being, and rights of women, children, and adolescents, is governed by a Board and administered by a Secretariat hosted by WHO. The organization plays a pivotal role in coordinating global efforts to improve health outcomes for these groups.

Nadda's address in Geneva reinforced India's dedication to these crucial health issues, reflecting a broader commitment to sustainable development and international cooperation. The minister's emphasis on youth engagement and stakeholder partnerships aligns with the government's holistic approach to healthcare, aiming to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all citizens.

By focusing on these initiatives, the Union government aims to foster a healthier society, ensuring that the needs of women, children, and adolescents are met through comprehensive and collaborative efforts. The ongoing commitment to these vulnerable populations highlights India's resolve to drive progress and achieve long-term health and development goals.commitment, well-being, women, children, adolescents, health, partnerships, sustainable, progress, engagement
